About ROTC

ROTC is the largest officer commissioning source in the American military. With over 275 programs across the country, it produces approximately 60% of the Second Lieutenants for the United States Army.

Most cadets go on to pursue a military career while others enroll in Military Science courses to hone their leadership skills for civilian careers.  We offer courses as a general elective to students on campus.

The ROTC program at UW has produced officers for over 100 years who have led with distinction and honor. Our Corps of Cadets represents a large sample of the diverse and talented students on campus.

In 1989 and 2001 the program expanded to Seattle Pacific University and Northwest University to provide these university students an opportunity to commission into the Army through ROTC.
